MENTOR MATCH

Did you participate in Latinitas while you were in elementary or middle school? Did you attend a summer camp, workshop, or conference? Latinitas has launched a Mentor Match Program just for you. Tell us more about yourself, your interests and career goals, and Latinitas will help you find a mentor that is committed to providing academic and/or professional development guidance. If you are a student or entering the work world and are between the ages of 16-24, submit the Latinitas Alumni Mentor Program Application and a Latinitas Team member will connect with you.

Our goal is to help Latinitas Alumni reach their full potential, academically and professionally, while building a connection with professionals that share similar interests, backgrounds, and experiences. The Latinitas Mentor Match Program will run from September – December 2018 and February – May 2019. Applications are accepted year-round.

Requirements:

  • Ages 14-24
  • Must have participated in at least one Latinitas program (Club Latinitas, Summer Camps, Chica Conferences, Teen Reporters).
  • Commit to at least one meeting per month with your mentor.
  • Have an interest in pursuing a career in STEM or Media.

WHOLE CHICA – Coming Soon!

Latinitas’ Whole Chica Leadership Incubator equips high school women to personally and economically succeed through a 12-week training program delivered by community leaders in entrepreneurship and innovation. The program begins at a weekend retreat to bond and discover strengths, personality traits, goals and challenges. Sessions are weekly for 3 hours: one hour is focused on developing personal skills, another for professional skills, and the remaining hour on entrepreneurship delivered by balanced community-minded business leaders. Sessions will introduce mindful practices such as journaling, meditating and thinking critically. Following weeks 3, 6, and 9, there will be a weekend project designed to provide an opportunity to lead a community impact project. Whole Chica will be about effectively diversifying Austin’s pipeline of business and social entrepreneurs, and infusing the city’s economic landscape with new and unheard voices. Stay tuned for more details!
