Build Businesses & Friendships at Latinitas Startup Chica Conference – April 26

Join Latinitas’ at Startup Chica, a one-day conference where students (ages 9 to 14) break into teams to conceptualize, create, and pitch their own business ideas! Throughout the day, students will learn what it takes to run a business from real business owners like CEO and Founder of The Latina Foundation, Bessy Martinez; Co-Founder of Latinas In Tech, Gretel Perera; Co-Founder of Austin Woman Magazine, Ana Ruelas; and Entrpreneur Daisy Marquez. These experts will talk the teams through topics like marketing, entrepreneurship, and even how to pitch their own business ideas. Students will also get to hear from Community Leaders Austin City Councelwoman Vanessa Fuentes and AISD Board of Trustees LaRessa Quintana. Keeping with a topic near and dear to Latinitas, students will also learn how technology and innovation drive successful enterprises, using different software to create logos and their final presentation. The once-in-a-lifetime experience will culminate in the teams presenting and pitching their businesses to a panel of industry experts for a chance to win prizes.

This year’s Startup Chica will be held at Ann Richards School For Young Women Leaders from 9 to 5 PM. Lunch will be provided. Sign your student up today, and get your student ready to build businesses and friendships!
