Latinitas Upcoming Eco Chica Conference Combines Sustainability and Empowerment

Get ready! On Saturday, April 29th, Latinitas will be hosting a very special and exciting Eco Chica startup conference. As explained on the Eco Chica website, this event will create a space where participants can, “spend the day learning the business skills needed to launch their own sustainable startup or product that identifies and solves community issues.” All information can be found at the above link, but for reference, the Eco Chica conference will take place from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST at the Atlassian building in Austin, Texas.

Eco Chica is specifically, “a startup conference for girls and non-binary students ages 9-14 years old.”  Participants will be accompanied and assisted by Latino mentors and judges.

One of the most exciting aspects of Eco Chica is the chance for these young entrepreneurs to, “hear from professionals” from different areas of expertise. Latinitas has announced some of the speakers and mentors on social media. One such person is keynote lunch speaker, Alexandra Gyarfa, who is Balcones Resources Inc. director of marketing! These professionals will journey with participants throughout the conference and help them walk out of Eco Chica with a wealth of knowledge, inspiration, and experience regarding, “innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.”

The conference experience entails splitting participants up into groups that will work together for the duration of the event. With the help of mentors, these groups will come up with ideas for businesses. While Latinitas has had startup conferences in the past, this year Eco Chica adds a sustainability twist. Not only will participants be pitching business ideas, but they will have to be eco-friendly concepts. At the end of the day, all teams will gather and, in front of a panel of judges, pitch their ideas. The winning team gets a prize!

Other information is available on the Eco Chica website as well, such as a list of the speakers that will be present at the conference. Readers can also find testimonials from participants of Startup Chica San Antonio 2023. These testimonials speak to the extraordinary, long-lasting benefits of taking part in events like Eco Chica. Some such benefits include significantly increased confidence in communication and problem-solving abilities.

Readers who do not meet the requirements for registration or who do not know anyone meeting the requirements can still participate! Eco Chica is looking for volunteers to help facilitate this conference. You can find the volunteer form for this event at the bottom of the linked page.

Tickets are available for purchase right now.

I highly recommend the Eco Chica startup conference as a day packed with fun, learning, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Don’t wait! Register now for this fast-approaching event.
