Celebrating Trans Latina Cinema at ‘Como La Flor’ Film Festival in Austin

This upcoming weekend The Gallery ATX, a woman-led art collective based in Austin, is holding their film festival Como La Flor: Blossoming Identities Through Trans Latina Cinema and you won’t want to miss it. This one-day-only event will be held Saturday evening, September 23 at the Moontower Cider Company. Tickets are on sale right now at $8 a pop, though you can donate more as you purchase. The festival begins at 6 PM and will feature a variety of cinematography from shorts to feature-length films including “The Transition” by Deandra Gonzalez, “Portals” and “Te Extraño” by Bev Vega, and “GIRLS LIKE US” by P1nkstar and Y2K (Artie Moreno). Ending at 9 p.m., attending Como La Flor is a good way to dip your toes into the Austin film scene, and the perfect way to ring in Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating culture, appreciating art, and uplifting the trans-Latina community.

You can buy your tickets right here. See you Saturday!
